Position: Ministry Development Coordinator, Southwest
Reports To: Ministry Development Director, Southwest
Location: CHF-Southwest, San Antonio, TX (no relocation assistance available)

Summary:
The Ministry Development Coordinator provides spiritual and operational leadership, oversight, and accountability for CHF Mercy Network (MN) partner church relationships in the assigned region (the region), in coordination with the Ministry Development (MD) Director for the assigned region. Generally serves as the first point of contact for regional MN inquiries.

Responsibilities Include:

  1. In coordination with MD Director, identify, approach, cultivate, maintain, and report on prospective and existing MN partner churches and all related activity including progress made and challenges faced in conducting biblical compassion ministry.
  2. Meet departmental and organizational requirements, such as number of contacts made and following established processes for selecting, qualifying, developing, approving and evaluating MN partner churches.
  3. Plan and prepare to equip MN churches to communicate the Gospel through effective compassion ministry, formally and informally, through in depth discussion and delivery of systematic instruction consistent with CHF’s approach; includes scheduling, coordinating and conducting Compassion Ministry Essentials Training.
  4. Collect and analyze statistics pertaining to region activity; in consultation with MD Director prepare and distribute reports that describe and measure CHF’s impact in the region; prepare and deliver associated updates or presentations for CHF Staff Meetings.
  5. Facilitate the distribution of products to MN churches through interaction with and providing spiritual encouragement to MN church personnel during established pickup times, in cooperation with Distribution/ Operations personnel.
  6. Assist in developing additional Mercy Networks within the region according to CHF's vision plan.
  7. Travel as needed for MN responsibilities within the region, as well as nationally for conferences (e.g., to develop ministry relationships and present about CHF), to other CHF locations; will generally participate annually on a CHF international ministry trip.
  8. Attend and assist with donor and volunteer events as assigned.

Qualifications include:

  • Confesses Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, active member of a local church, demonstrates ongoing growth in Christian maturity
  • Bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies (seminary degree preferred) or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Pastoral experience in shepherding relationships to a mature understanding of God’s Word
  • Competent computer user including MS Windows/MS Office/Internet; MS PowerPoint is helpful; able to quickly learn new software applications
  • Able to successfully organize multiple projects and ensure timely execution of associated tasks
  • Able to remain in a stationary position, seated or standing, at least 50% of the time; significantly more when traveling (must be able to travel domestically and internationally, including but not limited to travel by foot/airplane/bus/car; sometimes in rugged/uneven terrain)
  • Experienced in teaching the Bible
  • Experienced in public speaking
  • Experienced in working with others from various theological backgrounds
  • Experienced in building and leading teams
  • Able to write proficiently in a professional business style
  • Able to clearly communicate the mission and vision of CHF to all inquirers
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is required, including ability to translate casual and business conversations, conduct and/or provide translation for meetings and presentations (both in person and by telephone), prepare and/or translate written correspondence
