FAQs

How can I fundraise for CHF?
Come up with a creative fundraiser and then contact us. We'll help get you started.

I'm not close to any of your regional offices, how can I get involved?
We appreciate the enthusiasm. There's plenty you can do! Consider starting a fundraiser, hosting a dessert reception, or doing Project Food Pak.

How do we volunteer to pack Food Paks?
Contact CHF's Volunteer Coordinator in your area.

How do I request a receipt?
Contact us at 800.708.7589 or email info@chfus.org with your name, address, the approximate date of your donation, and the donation amount.

How do I end my monthly donation to CHF?
We need your cancellation in writing (fax, email, or mail). Include your name, address, and monthly donation amount. We'll make the cancelation and send you verification. Submit your request two business days before the next donation is set to process.

Why didn't I get a receipt for the Food Pak I donated?
We can only receipt cash donations in a Food Pak. Since food prices vary, we can't approximate the cost. Save your grocery receipt and you can claim it when you file your taxes.

How can my church get involved?
There are a variety of ways your church can be involved. You can do Project Food Pak, volunteer at our warehouse, or donate now.

My church wants to do Project Food Pak to help the less fortunate. What's next?
Great! Please have your church contact your nearest regional office. We will provide all of the Project Food Pak resources and info you need and help walk you through the rest of the process.

How long does each Project Food Pak last?
The length of each Project Food Pak varies. The typical project usually lasts three weeks. The first week you give out the empty boxes, the second week you start collecting and continue giving out boxes, and the final week is the last collection. Be sure to promote first!

How much does it cost to do Project Food Pak?
CHF provides all the resources you need at no cost to you! We'll provide flyers, posters, banners, DVD promotional videos, and brochures to help make your Project Food Pak a success!

If my church is interested in helping a specific country, can CHF help?
It's helpful to work in a country where there already exists like-minded partners or Mercy Networks. This helps ensure the resources are most effectively channeled through trusted local churches and individuals who will care for families and individuals in their communities in a deeper, long-term way.

Can my family give food that will go overseas?
Unfortunately because of customs requirements, we are unable to accept small food donations to go overseas, however you can donate food to help feed those in the United States.

I work in the food service industry and my corporation wants to give, can we give food that will go overseas?
Yes, we do accept larger donations based on our partners' needs. We require a minimum of 18 months shelf life on all products so we can ensure appropriate dating for our recipients.

What is a Mercy Network?
A Mercy Network is an indigenously-led group of gospel-centered churches ministering in their respective communities through effective compassion ministry.

Where do you have Mercy Networks currently?
Mexico, Peru, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Thailand, Nepal, Uganda, Rwanda, San Antonio, Los Angeles, Chicago

What if my church is outside of those areas?
We're working to expand throughout the U.S. and around the world. If we have the opportunity to partner with more like-minded ministries, we'll take steps to expand into new regions and territories.

Do Mercy Network churches receive food and other aid from CHF for free?
Yes. We don't charge our Mercy Network partners a penny. But ministries should consider expenses like transportation, storage, feedback, accountability responsibilities, time, and other resources involved in compassion ministry.
