| Beanie Batallion Lands In Iraq! |
 1 Million Beanie Babies shipped to Iraq finally reach the hands and hearts of Iraqi children. In January 2005, in a cooperative effort with Veterans of Foreign Wars and Operation Iraqi Children, CHF began airlifting 1 million Ty Beanie Babies to the U.S. Military in Iraq. These toys have become the soldiers favorite way of breaking down walls of hate and distrust among local families. The chaplain of a Blackhawk Battallion wrote, "We received 28 boxes of Beanie Babies. They will now bring even bigger smiles to the children's faces! Thank you for your generosity, sensitivity, and humane care of the Iraqi children who are easily forgotten in the midst of strife." |
