[Pacoima, Calif. – 03/12/10] – Children’s Hunger Fund (CHF), one of America’s top-ranked charities, is asking Americans to ‘Please, Remember Haiti’ and text ‘TENT’ to 85944, giving $10 toward waterproof tents for displaced Haitians during this season’s heavy rains.

1.2 million Haitians are in need of emergency shelter capable of withstanding the rainy season, according a U.N. report released yesterday. Hundreds of thousands are still living under bed sheets and tarpaulins either in mass camps or have been relocated back to their demolished properties. Sanitation and disease issues are raising concerns, as rain waters carry garbage and human waste throughout the city.

CHILDREN'S HUNGER FUND HOSTS SKIP1.ORG’S  INAUGURAL “SKIP DAY”

WHAT:   What was created to be an inaugural event to raise funds to bring food and water to children in need all over the world, is now set to help out locally. With less than 24-hours notice, the Inaugural Celebrity “Skip Day Event,” (Tuesday, Sept. 1) launched by Skip1.org in association with Children’s Hunger Fund, is skipping a portion of its original international fund-raising plan in order to provide immediate relief to local victims of the massive L.A. fires.
