YOUNG CELEBS SKIP LUNCH TO HELP FIRE EVACUEES AND PACK 7.5 TONS OF FOOD FOR NEEDY CHILDREN
HSM 3 Star, Matt Prokop, and Shark Boy and Lava Girl Star, Taylor Dooley, among celebrity participants in Skip Day, the launch event for Skip1.org, a promotional division of Children’s Hunger Fund.
Tuesday’s Skip Day event launched Skip1.org, a promotional division of Children’s Hunger Fund (CHF), designed to encourage everyone to skip a meal, or latte, or anything they would normally purchase, and give the money instead to feed hungry children. Kicking off with the viewing of Skip1.org’s new Public Service Announcement, the young celebs not only donated their “lunch money,” but pushed up their sleeves to tape, pack, label and stack Food Paks® that will provide approximately 30,000 meals to families in Latin America. “I started Skip1.org on behalf of Children’s Hunger Fund because I’ve seen first-hand the poverty and hunger that is killing 25,000 people every day,” said Shelene Bryan, Skip1.org creator. “There is no reason why we all can’t skip something, ANYTHING, and give that money to help children who can’t help themselves.” About Skip1.orgSkip1.org is dedicated to creating awareness and raising funds by encouraging others to skip a simple daily purchase and donate those funds to a desperately hungry child instead. Skip1.org creator, Shelene Bryan, is a mother of two and an advocate for children and hunger. Skip1.org is a promotional division of Children’s Hunger Fund.
