Dear Friend:

Are you ready for some good news? It seems like all we hear these days is bad news or worse news. I hope that this letter will be an encouragement to you because it is filled with good news.

One of the most encouraging things we have experienced here at CHF has been the uprising of compassion from our supporters toward the Haiti earthquake victims. Their sympathy for the needs of Haiti’s children has caused many to creatively and earnestly engage their friends and families to help. Here is one adorable example:

When 8 year-old Samantha was asked what she would want if she had survived an earthquake she replied, “I would want a bear to hug and a band-aid for my owies.” Together with her Mom, Samantha placed drop-off boxes at local schools, doctors’ offices, and yogurt shops throughout her hometown, collecting over 1,500 bears and hundreds of packages of adhesive bandages from family, friends and caring strangers for children in Haiti. Samantha’s compassion turned into action when she opened her heart to the needs of children just like herself in Haiti.

Today, I want to draw your attention to two very special reasons why March is a great month to give to Children’s Hunger Fund.

First, the rainy season is coming to Haiti in April. With so many living under bed sheets and tarps, the greatest fear in Haiti is the torrential, Caribbean rain. Throughout the month of March we are encouraging all of our supporters to help us purchase waterproof tents to shelter exposed families before the rains begin. Please help us, donate your one-time gift today.

Second, during the months of March and April, every dollar we raise will qualify for the Feinstein Foundation $1 Million matching grant program. The Foundation gives away a million dollars every year and, although not a dollar for dollar matching grant, the more CHF raises during the next two months the larger portion of the grant we will receive. Please consider a gift that will maximize your impact in the lives of needy children.

CHF continues to provide Food Paks® for needy children across America and around the world. Your gift of $24 or more will provide Food Paks and other aid to a needy family. If you have already given to this effort, I ask you to consider giving an automatic monthly gift that will be used to equip local churches to meet the ongoing needs of children in their communities.

Thank you for your past support of Children's Hunger Fund. When you contribute to CHF, help us to improve the lives of young children! May God richly bless you for your generosity!

Gratefully,

Dave Phillips
President

PS - Your generous financial support enables us to share good news with thousands of children each month. Thank you for caring!
