Caribbean Care PDF Print E-mail

Children’s Hunger Fund recently shipped our first international sea container of aid into the Dominican Republic (DR) and we have great news - it made it! The significance of this first container being received without any problems at the Dominican port cannot be overemphasized. Due to various factors like changes in government and corruption at the ports, it is often very difficult for our relationships in Latin America to receive and release containers without encountering one problem or another. We are thoroughly encouraged by the ability and efficiency of our new ministry partner in processing this shipment. Esperanza International is CHF’s new primary partner in the Caribbean. Together we look forward to the amazing doors God will open to resource local churches in both the DR and Haiti.

The people of Haiti and the Dominican Republic are already being richly blessed by the contents of this container. Local churches in both countries have distributed over 40,000 pounds of food in their respective communities. Many pastors have mobilized in their communities to visit families and care for their physical and spiritual needs. CHF’s Food Paks will also be used to build relationships with needy families using a home-delivery method for distribution. One pastor stated that the rice casserole* “has been, and will continue to be, a great blessing to the people of the Dominican.” CHF is blessed to partner with faithful churches and pastors in the DR and Haiti to care for many families and children in these poverty-stricken countries.
