Good Fruit PDF Print E-mail

You can gauge the goodness of a fruit tree by answering one question –

Does it have good fruit? Since Children’s Hunger Fund Midwest launched in suburban Chicago, we have been watching to see how good its fruit will be. Launched in 2006, CHF Midwest has developed a steadily growing Mercy Network® of churches. These churches identify the needy families in their communities and visit their homes, bringing Food Paks® and other aid so relationships can be built, and lives can be changed.

Our supporters from the Chicago area have formed a group called the Founders Movement to help establish CHF in the Midwest. We are celebrating this month because through their generosity and support, they have success- fully paid off our warehouse expenses enabling ministry to hundreds of thousands of children into the future.

In the past year, the word has spread and we’ve built relationships with churches in Michigan. Some of the poorest communities in the country are now receiving aid and support from Mercy Network churches. With two expanding Mercy Networks and a strong foundation for future ministry, CHF Midwest is producing very good fruit.

We are also watching with anticipation the fruit of our second regional distribution center in San Antonio, Texas.
With a rented warehouse and a staff of two, Children’s Hunger Fund Southwest has already seen how God moves in the hearts of churches and individuals to meet the needs of the poor. In May, volunteers from around the city came to the warehouse and filled Gift Paks® with necessities for Moms. Then 19 churches, new relationships that are working with CHF for the first time, distributed Food Paks® and Gift Paks® to needy mothers and their families. We look forward to how God is going to use this launch to produce more amazing fruit.
