Serving Children With You for 20 Years

A few months ago, we received a note in the mail from an eight-year-old girl named Abby. She shared her idea with us—she would use her “talent of art” to help us feed hungry children. At that point Abby had raised $46. That may not seem like a lot of money, but it is a lot of heart. Alone, we can’t save the world, but everyone can do something, and together we can make a huge impact.

With that in mind, Dave Phillips, founder of Children’s Hunger Fund, set out to do his part. In December of 1991, the vision to create a ministry to serve children in need was born. Twenty years later, CHF remains committed to our mission to alleviate the suffering of children by equipping God’s church to communicate the gospel through effective compassion ministry.

Over the years we’ve developed relationships with partners around the world that share our heart to demonstrate the love of God to children in need. With the help of countless volunteers, we’ve delivered over a billion dollars worth of aid to needy children and families around the world.

Our regional distribution centers in Los Angeles, San Antonio, and Chicago serve as hubs where we pack and ship Food Paks. A Food Pak is a 20-pound box of nutritious staple foods like beans, pasta, and canned fruits and vegetables. This box is hand-delivered to the home of a child in need. But a Food Pak is more than just food, it represents hope for a better future!

As CHF celebrates 20 years of serving children in need, and as we move into our new Global Distribution Center, we are thankful. Through the years, we have reached children in 72 countries and 35 U.S. states. That impact is only possible through the compassion of friends like you!
