North Korea: Imagining the Unimaginable

Doors Open to Meet Needs Behind the Bamboo Curtain

North Korea is virtually the most closed country in the world when it comes to the type of work we do at Children’s Hunger Fund. Some would even say it is impossible to get a foot in the door there. But the impossible has become a phenomenal reality!

As newspapers reported the sudden death of leader Kim Jong II, CHF was working to form a strategic partnership with Wheat Missions Ministries, a charity that helps orphans in North Korea. In a strictly humanitarian effort, CHF provided a load of dried fruit and handmade blankets, which will be used in various orphan care homes throughout the country.

This open door for humanitarian work in North Korea is nothing short of a miracle. And we hope it is just the beginning!

With your help, we are currently in the process of shipping a load of a potato-based, vitamin- fortified meal. That load will supply 500,000 meals to hungry children! Thanks for making that possible!
