Happy New Year! We hope you had a blessed time with family and friends over the holidays. CHF has hit the ground running and we are excited for what this new year holds. To start off our prayer email series for 2010, our president and founder, Dave Phillips, will share some praises and prayer requests for this upcoming year.

I want to personally thank you for your commitment to pray for Children's Hunger Fund. There is no doubt in my mind that the greatest way you can support the ministry of CHF is to pray for us. So, thank you for taking our petitions before the Lord and praying on our behalf. It is truly appreciated.

By way of a praise report, I want to share with you the tremendous outpouring of financial support we have received over the last two weeks. We will know more in the coming weeks, but it appears that we are very close to making budget for the year, which in this economy is an absolute answer to prayer! We remain humbled and grateful for the Lord's goodness to us!

As we start out a new year, I would like to ask you to pray for several opportunities we have to expand our Mercy Network programs in the coming weeks. On January 6, we sent a training team to the Dominican Republic. They are in the process of training a group of pastors in our Compassion Ministry Essentials curriculum. We will return in a couple months to train a similar group of pastors in Haiti, once we have completed translating our training material into French.

On January 18, we will be sending a team to Thailand to launch a Mercy Network of churches in the Hill Tribe region of northern Thailand. After completing four days of training, the team will move on to India to continue to investigate Mercy Network opportunities in the region. Please pray for good health, safety of travel, and that the word of God would be clearly communicated to these pastors. We are grateful for the opportunity God has given us to develop relationships in these countries in an effort to advance the Gospel. Thank you again for your faithfulness in praying for us!

Praise God for His incredible provision for CHF. We know everything we receive comes from His gracious hand.

Pray for the ongoing development of our Mercy Networks, that we would be diligent and faithful in the work God has entrusted to us.

Pray for the two other upcoming trainings this month in Southern California and Austin, Texas. It is always a privilege to equip God's Church for compassion ministry.
